Hillion Mall, State Courts and Sunshine Place removed from list of places visit by Covid-19 cases while infectious
Hillion Mall was removed from the list of places visited by Covid-19 cases while infectious.
SINGAPORE — Three locations that were previously put on a list of places visited by Covid-19 cases while infectious were removed after one case was found to be a false positive.
In a press release on Monday (Sept 22), the Ministry of Health (MOH) said that case 57679, was removed from Singapore’s case count after further investigation of his borderline positive result.
Two additional tests revealed that he was not infected with Covid-19.
The locations that have been removed from the list are:
- Giant supermarket at Sunshine Place in Chua Chu Kang on Sept 12 between 2.05pm and 2.40pm
- State Courts at 1 Havelock Square on Sept 15 between 1.20pm and 2.25pm
- Hillion Mall at 17 Petir Road on Sept 15 between 3.20pm and 4.15pm
It was earlier reported on Friday (Sept 18) that the infectious person visited Sunshine Plaza and State Courts. His visit to Hillion Mall was later reported on Saturday (Sept 19).
“As a precautionary measure, MOH had classified him as a Covid-19 case and taken all necessary public health actions while he was being re-tested,” said MOH.
“Two subsequent tests came back negative for Covid-19, and investigations by laboratory experts and an expert panel assessed that his first test result was false-positive.”
His household contacts have also undergone testing which turned out negative and they have not been exposed to the risk of Covid-19 due to the initial test result, MOH noted.
On Monday, MOH reported that there were 31 new cases of Covid-19, of which nine were imported cases and 22 involved migrant workers in the dormitories.
There were no new cases in the community.
