SINGAPORE — Japanese discount store Don Quijote is planning to open its first ever South-east Asian outlet in Singapore, it was announced on Monday (June 5).
The store is slated for the Orchard Road area, said the Don Quijote Group and Pan Pacific International Holding in a joint press statement. The Singapore store’s opening date and other details will be announced at a later date, the statement added.
Don Quijote is widely known in Japan for its long opening hours and wide range of goods at low prices. Since its first store opened in 1989, Don Quijote has grown to 350 stores nationwide, and serving an estimated 300 million customers a year.
Outside of Japan, the Group has been operating three Don Quijote USA stores in Hawaii since 2006.
The Don Quijote store in Singapore will be offering “Cool-Japan” themed products, the press statement said.
