SINGAPORE: Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH) warned on Wednesday (Feb 23) of a fraudulent website mimicking its official site, saying that it has made a police report.

"It has come to our attention that there was a website mimicking the official Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH) website," said the hospital in a Facebook post.

"We have made a police report and contacted the domain host to initiate a takedown of the website.

"All Singapore Internet service providers have blocked access to the website and our checks confirm that the website is no longer accessible."

KTPH did not provide a URL to the fake website. The official KTPH website URL is www.ktph.com.sg.

Responding to CNA's queries, KTPH said the discovery of the fake website was made by its healthcare IT partner IHiS on Monday during security monitoring activities.

"The KTPH Cyber Incident Response Team was immediately set up," said the hospital.

KTPH added it was unable to determine how long the fake website had been active, as well as the intent behind it. The fake website contained fields for name, email address and phone number.

A police report was made by the hospital on Monday night and major telecommunication companies blocked assess to the website by Tuesday morning, the hospital added.

"We are continuing to work with IHiS and the relevant authorities to take down the fake website, which is hosted overseas," said KTPH, adding that investigations are still ongoing.

"We have thus far not received any indication that any member of public or our patients have submitted personal information to the fake website."

The hospital advised members of the public to be cautious of websites that use other web addresses to mimic its official website.

"Stay vigilant and avoid clicking on links from external sources. Always practise discretion when sharing sensitive personal details online," said the hospital.

CNA has reached out to the relevant authorities for more information.
