Man, 24, to be charged with wife's murder in Boon Lay

SINGAPORE — A 24-year-old man will be charged on Saturday (Aug 29) with the murder of his 26-year-old wife in Boon Lay.
In a news release on Friday, the police said that they had received a call for assistance at the void deck of Block 211 Boon Lay Place on Thursday at about 6.30pm.
Officers found the woman injured and lying motionless upon arrival.
“The woman was unconscious when taken to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital where she was subsequently pronounced dead at the hospital at 9.58pm,” the police said.
Officers from the Criminal Investigation Department and Jurong Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him within three hours from the time of the reported incident.
Investigations are ongoing.
If convicted of murder, the man faces the death penalty or life imprisonment with caning.
