Driver arrested after attempting to force his way out of traffic in Marsiling; weapons found in his car

SINGAPORE: A 36-year-old man was arrested by the police on Tuesday (May 28) following an incident in Marsiling where he tried to forcefully drive his car through vehicles that had boxed him in.
In a media release on Wednesday, the police said they had received a call at 5.50pm on Tuesday asking for assistance at the junction of Admiralty Road and Marsiling Lane.
Officers who arrived at the scene spotted a male driver attempting to manoeuvre his car out of the stationary traffic.
The male driver was arrested after a short scuffle and several items were seized from his vehicle.

These included a baton, a knuckle duster, a pocket knife, a bank card, seven cash cards, substances believed to be controlled drugs and drug paraphernalia.
Dashcam footage of the incident has been shared and circulated online on social media platforms.
In the video, a grey Mitsubishi Lancer is initially seen stopping before a red traffic light. A man in a grey T-shirt then runs into the frame and stops in front of the Mitsubishi.
He gestures to drivers in vehicles around the Mitsubishi in what appears to be a request for help in stopping the Mitsubishi from leaving.
When the light turns green, the Mitsubishi tries to move off but is blocked by the grey-shirted man and several other vehicles.
Moments later, two police officers arrive and attempt to stop the Mitsubishi. The driver tries again to force his car through and ends up ramming into another vehicle two lanes away.
A police officer then breaks the window and the driver is eventually apprehended.Â
TESTED POSITIVE FOR DRUGS
It was later established that the man had been wanted by the police and the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) for multiple offences.Â
"Preliminary investigations by CNB revealed that the man’s urine tested positive for controlled drugs," the police said.Â
The man will be charged in court on Thursday for rash conduct and possession of weapons.
The offence of possessing weapons like a knuckle duster carries a maximum jail term of five years and at least six strokes of the cane.
The police will also seek to detain the man for further investigation on offences including driving without a valid driving licence and insurance, using a deregistered vehicle and fraudulent possession of property.
