In his opening address, Mr Wong thanked Singaporeans for coming together to support athletes at the Games, and dedicated this last leg of the Torch Parade to volunteers at the SEA Games.

Earlier today (June 4), two ultramarathoners, who completed the last leg of their Go50 mission of running 50km consecutively for 50 days, ignited the official flame.

In a community run this afternoon, 28 runners ran through locations in downtown Singapore, such as Orchard Road, Bras Basah and Sports Hub Singapore, before ending at The Promontory @ Marina Bay.

The Torch Parade this evening is the culmination of all community engagement efforts leading up to the Games.
