SINGAPORE — Five training providers will no longer be allowed to provide Ministry of Manpower (MOM)-accredited safety courses following training and assessment malpractices that “compromised the integrity” of the courses conducted, said the MOM today (June 24).

The training providers failed to conduct courses according to stipulated course durations, failed to ensure trainees’ language proficiency for the courses and failed to uphold the integrity of examination procedures, said the ministry, citing investigation findings.

As such, the MOM cancelled the Accredited Training Provider (ATP) status of the five companies. They are: Work Safe Academy; Propel Consultants; Regent Global Consultants; Bright Training Centre and Ark HSE Management Solutions.

The directors of these training providers also will not be allowed to apply as an ATP Director, Principal and or Trainer with the MOM for two years from the date of cancellation.

The ATP scheme accredits training providers to conduct Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) courses on behalf of the MOM.

“MOM takes a strong stance on the integrity of ATPs. Since 2010, MOM has cancelled the accreditation status of 11 training providers for similar violations. MOM will continue to step up investigations and appropriate actions will be taken against errant ATPs,” said the ministry. NAWWARAH ABDUL GHANI
