MSO to partner 3 more agencies to expand scope

SINGAPORE — From next month, the Municipal Services Office (MSO) will partner three additional agencies to expand its scope of work and ensure that municipal feedback is properly acted on, said Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office Grace Fu yesterday.

The three agencies are the Building and Construction Authority, Singapore Land Authority and Urban Redevelopment Authority, Ms Fu, who oversees the MSO, told Parliament.

The office was set up last October to improve the delivery of municipal services, especially in areas where multiple agencies need to be involved.

Its new partner agencies, which manage about 700 municipal cases every month, will have to adopt the MSO’s service standards, which include a protocol to forward complex cases to partner agencies’ senior management and the MSO. Feedback provided to these agencies will be channelled to the MSO’s integrated municipal management system. The system is targeted to be fully integrated by next year.

With these three agencies on board, the MSO will have a total of 11 partner agencies, including the Singapore Police Force, National Environment Agency, Housing and Development Board, and Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority of Singapore.

Speaking at the National Development Ministry’s Committee of Supply debate, Ms Fu said more than 14,000 users have registered for the MSO’s OneService mobile app since its launch in January. Around 2,800 pieces of feedback have been submitted. KELLY NG
