SINGAPORE — Close to 20 personal mobility devices (PMDs) were impounded in a three-day sting over the weekend, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) said in a Facebook post on Monday (June 3).

In all, 60 officers were deployed across Hougang, Telok Blangah and Tiong Bahru, with a total of 31 offences detected.

The offences include riding non-compliant PMDs, and doing so on paths where they are not permitted.

The LTA officers also caught riders who falsely declared details of their e-scooters during registration.

From July 1 onwards, it will be mandatory for riders to register their e-scooters.

Those who make false declarations when registering their e-scooter can be fined up to $5,000 and/or be jailed for up to 12 months, the LTA warns
