New PAP candidates to be announced after National Day Weekend: Ng Eng Hen

SINGAPORE — The Peoples’ Action Party (PAP) will announce new candidates for the upcoming General Election after the National Day Weekend, said PAP Organising Secretary Ng Eng Hen at Toa Payoh today (Aug 2).
Dr Ng, who is also Singapore’s Defence Minister and an MP for Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC, was at Toa Payoh to give out SG50 Funpacks to residents. Speaking to reporters, he said that he did not want to reveal which new faces will be fielded in the General Election as he did not want to “increase the temperature”.
Dr Ng also hinted that he will contest in Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC, “unless you know something I don’t know”.
When asked if the election will be held in September, Dr Ng said: “If all the students think that this exam question is to come out, then the examiner may change the exam question, you know?” CHANNEL NEWSASIA
