One killed, two injured in accident at Tuas Checkpoint

SINGAPORE — A man was killed and two others were injured in an accident involving a lorry and two motorcycles early on Tuesday (Dec 6) morning on the Second Link towards Tuas Checkpoint. The accident caused a massive jam lasting more than three hours.
The driver, a 45-year-old man, was arrested for causing death by a negligent act.
A 51-year-old male motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The other motorcyclist and his pillion rider, aged 33 and 32, respectively, were taken to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital. A police spokesperson said both suffered cuts and abrasions on their legs and hands.
TODAY understands they were discharged from the hospital at about 11am on Tuesday.
All the parties involved are believed to be Malaysians.
In a press release, the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority said the accident happened at around 5.10am, and affected the bus-and-lorry lane on the arrival link bridge. Traffic returned to normal at around 8.30am.
