SINGAPORE: Three people were taken to hospital after a fire broke out at a Housing Board flat on Tuesday (Mar 19).
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said in a Facebook post that it was alerted to the fire at Block 706 Clementi West Street 2 at about 2.10pm.
When SCDF officers arrived at the scene, they saw black smoke coming out of a fourth-storey unit. The fire, which involved the contents of a room, was extinguished by firefighters using a water jet.

The living room of the flat also sustained heat and smoke damage as a result of the fire.
"The occupants had evacuated the unit before SCDF's arrival. Three persons from the unit were assessed for smoke inhalation and conveyed to the Singapore General Hospital," SCDF said.
A preliminary investigation showed that the fire had "likely originated" from a personal mobility aid, or PMA, that was charging in the room, SCDF added.
SCDF reminded members of the public that motorised devices that are modified, not properly maintained or not being charged with their original chargers are fire risks.
