SINGAPORE – Train service was disrupted on Thursday (Feb 27) morning between Buangkok and Punggol MRT stations on the North-East Line due to a power fault, SBS Transit said. Regular service resumed at about 12.20pm.

SBS Transit first tweeted the issue at 5.50am.

In a subsequent tweet about half an hour later, the operator said that only one platform between the two stations was running.

“Please add extra travel time,” it added. Shuttle trains were operating between the affected stations and free regular and bridging bus services were also available for commuters.

Repair works had to be carried out before regular train services resumed some 6.5 hours later at about 12.20pm.
