The Workers' Party chief is accused of falsely testifying at the Committee of Privileges hearings involving former Member of Parliament Raeesah Khan.
SINGAPORE: Leader of the Opposition Pritam Singh was charged on Tuesday (Mar 19) with two counts of lying to a parliamentary committee, about two years after the case was referred to the police for investigations.
The Workers' Party chief is accused of falsely testifying at the hearings by the Committee of Privileges, which had been convened to look into the conduct of former Member of Parliament Raeesah Khan.
Her case came about in 2021 when she admitted to lying in parliament over a rape incident that she had alleged was mishandled by the police.
Singh, 47, has pleaded not guilty.
