SINGAPORE — A training centre that aims to inculcate the right mindset towards productivity among students about to enter the workforce was launched today (April 6) at the Nanyang Polytechnic School of Business Management.
The centre, which is touted as a “first of its kind”, is a collaboration between Nanyang Polytechnic and the Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA).
Speaking at the launch, Senior Minister of State (Education) Indranee Rajah said that instilling in students the right mindset about productivity would help them perform better in their future careers.
Mr Henry Heng, Senior Director at Nanyang Polytechnic’s School of Business Management, said the centre will target business students for now, with plans to extend its services to the entire final-year student cohort in the poly.
At the centre, students will be taught how to identify and solve productivity-related problems through a compulsory three-day workshop. They will also get the chance to put their newly-acquired skills to use via internships.
