SINGAPORE — Results for the 2016 Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) will be out on Nov 24, the Education Ministry announced on Thursday (Nov 17).
All pupils who took the exam this year may collect their result slips from their respective primary schools next Thursday from 11am.
At the same time, those who qualify to go to secondary schools will receive option forms to select their schools, together with a personal identification number that will allow them to submit their options online via the ministry’s Secondary One-Internet System (S1-IS).
The system is open for online submissions from 11am on Nov 24 and closes at 3pm on Nov 30.
Completed option forms may also be dropped off at the pupils’ primary schools on Nov 24 between 11am and 3pm, or on Nov 25, 28, 29 and 30 between 9am and 3pm.
Applicants will know which school they are posted to on Dec 21, and they can find out via text message, the S1-IS or at their primary schools.
All students have to report to their secondary schools on Dec 22 at 8.30am.
Pupils who are eligible for the Normal (Technical) course and interested to study at Crest Secondary School or Spectra Secondary School may apply directly to these two schools, which take a customised approach and offer a skills-based and practice-oriented curriculum that prepares students for subsequent studies in an Institute of Technical Education.
Application forms for these two schools will be available from their websites, or the primary schools when the pupils receive their PSLE results.
Direct applications are accepted from 11am on Nov 24 to noon on Nov 29, but students must still indicate their choices for other secondary schools under the posting exercise.
This would ensure that those who are not admitted to Crest Secondary School or Spectra Secondary School could be posted to another school of their choice in a timely and seamless manner, the ministry said.
Successful applicants to Crest Secondary School or Spectra Secondary School will be informed by these two schools via a letter and text message by Dec 14.
