SINGAPORE – Regular train services have resumed on the North-South Line (NSL) on Wednesday (Feb 14), some four hours after rail operator SMRT warned commuters to brace for delays during the morning rush hour.
SMRT first told commuters around 5.45am to add an additional 20 minutes of travel time if they were commuting between Ang Mo Kio and Raffles Place MRT stations. The delays were due to trains moving slower near the Raffles Place MRT station as a result of maintenance work.
The delays on the affected stretch were reduced to about 10 minutes by about 9am.
In a tweet at 10.07am, SMRT said that services on the NSL were "running normally". The rail operator gave no further details about the maintenance work being carried out.
