SINGAPORE — A total of 700 counterfeit women’s bags and wallets imported from China were detained by Singapore Customs during an inspection of the consignment of goods at Tanjong Pagar Distripark earlier today (May 6).

The items are suspected to be counterfeits of three popular brands. The brand owners have been informed of the detention and can institute infringement actions against the importer under the Trade Marks Act, a Singapore Customs statement said.

“Singapore does not condone such illegal trading activities and will take firm action against importers of counterfeit goods and continue to ensure a robust intellectual property rights enforcement regime in Singapore,” the statement added.
