Singapore records 12 new cases of Covid-19, all imported

SINGAPORE — Singapore on Sunday (March 21) recorded 12 new cases of Covid-19, all of which were imported. There were no new cases in the wider community. 

The Ministry of Health said that all 12 imported cases were placed on stay-home notices or isolated on arrival in Singapore.

They were tested during their quarantine period and 10 of them had no symptoms.

  One is a Singaporean who returned from India

• One is a dependant’s pass holder who arrived from Nepal

• Two are long-term visit pass holders who came from India

• One is a work pass holder who arrived from Nepal

• Three are work permit holders who came from India, Indonesia and the Philippines, all of whom are foreign domestic workers

• Four are special pass holders who are sea crew; they arrived from Indonesia on a vessel

Overall, the number of new and unlinked cases in the community has decreased from two cases in the week before to none in the past week, MOH said.

UPDATE ON CONDITION OF CONFIRMED CASES

The total number of infections in Singapore is now 60,196.

Sixteen more Covid-19 patients have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities, bringing the total who have fully recovered to 60,038.

There are 18 patients who are still in hospital. Most of them are stable or improving, and none is in the intensive care unit.

Another 110 with mild symptoms, or who are clinically well but still test positive for Covid-19, are isolated at community facilities.

Thirty people have died from complications due to Covid-19 infection.
