Singapore reports 1 new Covid-19 infection, lowest number since Feb 25
SINGAPORE — A 34-year-old Filipina with a travel history to the Philippines was Singapore’s sole Covid-19 case on Monday (Nov 2) — the lowest daily count since Feb 25.
The Ministry of Health (MOH) said that the work pass holder did not have any symptoms and was placed on stay-home notice upon her arrival in Singapore where she was tested for the coronavirus.
There were no cases in the wider community, the ministry added.
Overall, the number of new cases in the community has remained low with a total of two in the past week — both of the infected persons have no known links to other cases.
The ministry has also been monitoring existing clusters at foreign worker dormitories for any further transmission of the coronavirus.
“As there have been no more cases linked to the cluster at Homestay Lodge for the past two incubation periods, the cluster has now been closed,” it said.
UPDATES ON REMAINING CASES
The total number of infections in Singapore now stands at 58,020.
Of these, 57,924 people have fully recovered and have been discharged from hospitals or community care facilities. No one was discharged on Monday.
There are still 46 patients in hospitals and most are in stable condition or improving. No one is in intensive care.
Another 22 patients are isolated and being cared for at community facilities. They have mild symptoms or are clinically well but still tested positive for Covid-19.
Twenty eight people have died from complications due to Covid-19.
