Solidarity Budget: 90 per cent of Singaporeans to receive S$600 on Tuesday
Nine in 10 Singaporeans will receive a “Solidarity Payment” of S$600 each, directly credited into their bank accounts on Tuesday (April 14).
SINGAPORE — As part of the Solidarity Budget, nine in 10 Singaporeans will receive a “Solidarity Payment” of S$600 each, directly credited into their bank accounts on Tuesday (April 14), the Ministry of Finance said in a statement on Sunday.
These recipients would have previously provided their bank account details for Government payouts, such as the SG Bonus in 2018, or GST Voucher – Cash (Bicentennial Payment) in 2019, if eligible.
Details of the Solidarity Budget were delivered by Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat on April 6. It is the third round of stimulus measures to help businesses, workers and households cope with the economic and societal effects of Covid-19, after the Budget announcement in February and the Resilience Budget on March 26.
The Government requests those who have not provided their bank account details to do so via Gov.sg no later than April 23 to receive the payment directly in their bank accounts on April 28.
Those who have not provided bank account details by April 23 will receive the payment through cheques sent to their NRIC-registered addresses in stages from April 30 onwards.
Singapore permanent residents (PRs) and long-term visit pass-plus (LTVP+) holders aged 21 and above and living in Singapore will also receive a one-off payment of S$300 from the Government.
Eligible PRs, or those who have Singaporean parents, spouse or children, may sign up for the one-off Solidarity Payment on Gov.sg using their SingPass from now until May 10. Those who provide their bank account details while signing up can expect to receive the payment directly in their bank account on May 19. Those who do not provide their bank account details when signing up will receive cheques in stages from end-May onwards.
No application is needed for LTVP+ holders who will receive their payment via cheques in stages from end-May onwards.
