SINGAPORE — Residents of Jurong Bird Park and the Singapore Zoo will be joining in the SG50 celebrations this Jubilee weekend, as they present special birthday greetings to the nation, said Wildlife Reserves Singapore (WRS) today (Aug 3).

Amigo, a yellow-naped Amazon parrot, will sing a Happy Birthday song, while Sassy the sulphur-crested cockatoo will fly the Singapore flag high during the High Flyers show at Jurong Bird Park.

Over at the Singapore Zoo, elephants Jati and Gambir will raise the Singapore flag with their trunks while the sea lions will offer “a little SG50 surprise”, during the Elephants at Work and Play and Splash Safari shows, respectively.

As part of WRS’ SG50 celebrations, there is a 50 per cent discount for admission to Jurong Bird Park and for bundled admission to River Safari and the Singapore Zoo for the month of August. Singaporeans, permanent residents and employment pass holders are eligible for the discount. SYAFFANA SAZALI
