Supermarkets in Bukit Panjang Plaza, Hillion Mall added to locations visited by Covid-19 cases

SINGAPORE — Two supermarkets in Bukit Panjang were on Wednesday (May 27) added to the list of places visited by people diagnosed with Covid-19. They had gone there while they were infectious.

In a media statement, the Ministry of Health (MOH) said that the infected individuals had visited the FairPrice Finest outlet at Bukit Panjang Plaza and the NTUC FairPrice outlet at Hillion Mall between 12pm and 1pm on May 24.

Other locations that infected persons had gone to were:

• Jurong West 505 Market and Food Centre (505 Jurong West Street 52) from 9am and 9.30am on May 17 and again from 11am to 12pm on May 25

  NTUC FairPrice at Jurong Point from 4.30pm to 6pm on May 20

• Shokutsu Ten Japanese Food Street at Jurong Point from 5.30pm to 6.30pm on May 21

• The wet market at Block 963 Jurong West Street 91 from 6am to 8am on May 24

• NTUC FairPrice Xtra outlet at Jurong Point from 1pm to 2pm on May 24

The ministry did not indicate which confirmed cases had visited these locations.

Previously, it said that the list of places it puts out will not include residences, workplaces, healthcare facilities and public transport.

In its statement on Wednesday, it said that those who had been identified as close contacts of confirmed cases would already have been notified by the ministry.

As a precautionary measure, people who had been at these locations during the specified timings should monitor their health closely for 14 days from their date of visit, MOH said.

“They should see a doctor promptly if they develop symptoms of acute respiratory infection (such as cough, sore throat and runny nose), as well as fever and loss of taste or smell, and inform the doctor of their exposure history.”
