SINGAPORE: Two people died after an accident involving several vehicles at the junction of Tampines Avenue 1 and Avenue 4 on Monday morning (Apr 22).
A 17-year-old student at Temasek Junior College was among the fatalities. She was in her father's car when the accident happened.
The other was a 57-year-old woman who was a passenger in a van, said the Singapore Police Force (SPF).
Both of them were unconscious when they were taken to hospital, where they subsequently died.

Authorities were called to the scene at about 7.05am. Four cars, a van and a minibus were involved in the accident.
Six other people were taken to hospital, including a 42-year-old car driver who is assisting with police investigations.Â
Videos of the moments before the accident were posted on the SG Road Vigilante Facebook page, showing a black car speeding and sideswiping a white car before a junction.
A few seconds later, multiple vehicles are seen damaged at the junction, with a black car upturned.
Paramedics are seen in another video performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation on a person near a zebra crossing.

The 17-year-old student was identified by her uncle as Afifah Munirah.
Her father Muhammad Azril was among those taken to hospital. He has undergone surgery and remains warded, according to the girl's uncle Firdaus Kassim.
The principal of Temasek Junior College said the school is "deeply saddened" by her death.
"The school has been in touch with the family of the student and will render additional support to students and staff who may be affected by this incident during this difficult period," the principal said on Monday evening in response to CNA's queries.
According to the police, the other people taken to hospital were: Two male car drivers in their 40s, a 64-year-old male van driver, an 11-year-old male car passenger and an 11-year-old male minibus passenger.
"A 42-year-old female car driver and a 39-year-old male van passenger later sought medical attention at the hospital on their own," SPF said.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force told CNA that a person was found with one leg trapped under the wheel of a car. Hydraulic rescue equipment was used to free the person's leg.

Of the eight people taken to hospital, four were sent to Changi General Hospital, two to Tan Tock Seng Hospital and two to KK Women's and Children's Hospital, SCDF said.
"A few members of the public, including a nurse and two off-duty SCDF officers, had rendered assistance to the injured persons following the accident," it added.
"SCDF will be reaching out to commend them for their public spiritedness."
When CNA visited the site of the accident at about 11am, some of the damaged vehicles were still on the road, although the overturned car had been removed from the scene.
