SINGAPORE — The next two weeks will see short, thundery showers on several days, as inter-monsoon conditions continue in Singapore.

In its fortnightly weather outlook yesterday, the National Environment Agency (NEA) said the inter-monsoon conditions, which have already brought about respite from the haze with the change in wind direction, are expected to prevail.

Short-duration thundery showers are forecast mostly in the afternoon for six to eight days, and the showers may be heavy at times, “especially when there is convergence of winds coupled with strong solar heating of land areas”. The maximum daily temperature is forecast to be between 33 and 34°C.

Noting that November is typically the second-wettest month in the year after December, the NEA said  rainfall for the first fortnight of November is “likely to be near normal”.

The NEA also noted that October marked the fifth month in a row where the average monthly total rainfall was significantly below the long-term monthly average.
