Train service temporarily suspended between Jurong East and Joo Koon due to train fault

SINGAPORE — Train services between Jurong East and Joo Koon stations were disrupted on Friday (Feb 19) evening for nearly an hour due to a train fault, with services temporarily halted.
SMRT first tweeted about the train fault at 5.43pm. At the time, SMRT warned commuters to expect an additional 15 minutes of travelling time.
However at 6pm, SMRT tweeted there was no train service between Jurong East and Joo Koon. Free bus services were available to commuters.
The issue seemed to have been resolved at 6.02pm, when SMRT tweeted that train services had resumed. However, 20 minutes later, the transport company again tweeted that the train fault had recurred.
At 6.36pm, SMRT tweeted that train services were halted again. At the time, the transport company said the expected resumption time was 30 minutes, but by 6.42pm, train services had resumed again.
