SINGAPORE — A Ngee Ann Polytechnic student has generated some online buzz with a TikTok video ranking various spots to catch some shut-eye at school.
In a video posted on Saturday (June 8), TikTok user "keerigiri" shared a light-hearted guide to his favourite places to cat-nap on campus.
The video had been viewed more than 148,000 times and had 13,500 likes as of Tuesday.
He ranked the level-four library sitting area in first place for its comfortable cushions and air-conditioned environment.
He claimed that the only downside is the lack of privacy.
"But if you are shameless (like me), it doesn't matter at all. 9/10," he said in his commentary.
He gave a much lower rating for the second place he reviewed: A study area located at an underpass near the business block.
While this spot provides more privacy, he added that "you are sleeping basically on hard wood".
He gave it a score of 6.5 out of 10, marking it down for the lack of ventilation and air-conditioning.
The final spot was red sofas located in the business building, which he called an "underrated" snoozing location.
He claimed that the cushions felt more comfortable than those in the library.
Despite being in an open area, he stated that this spot provided the most privacy.
"Sometimes people walking by won't even know that there's somebody sleeping there." He gave this spot 8.5 out of 10.
He has promised to review more sleeping spots in a future second part of this video.
Viewers soon came forward with their own prime sleeping locations at the polytechnic.
One wrote: "I always nap at the munch tables outside the club rooms, very cold and nice. Most of the time is dark, too."
Another wrote: "Sorry but god tier location is nursing block NSL beds."
Even people who are not Ngee Ann Polytechnic students found the video interesting, with one saying: "I don't even go here but I actually watched this till the end."
TODAY has reached out the video maker for comment, and has also asked Ngee Ann Polytechnic about its policy on students sleeping in such spots.
