The lowdown on Chanel’s first makeup line for men

Plus, South Korean heartthrob Lee Dong Wook fronts the campaign for this impossibly cool collection made specially for the boys.

Chanel has always been about breaking free of codes and rewriting the rules so it comes as no surprise that it’s one of the few brands that will offer a makeup line just for men.

Declaring that “beauty is not a matter of gender; it is a matter of style”, the brand will be launching Boy de Chanel, a range of three everyday makeup essentials that accentuate features while blurring any imperfections for a natural finish.

Plus, South Korean actor Lee Dong Wook has been chosen as the campaign model.

All products in the line are housed in sleek midnight-blue packaging and all formulas are long-wearing with a matte finish. Scroll down for the lowdown on the offerings that even girls would love to get.

Boy de Chanel Le Teint Foundation SPF25/PA++

Foundation or tinted moisturiser? We can’t decide as this lightweight tinted fluid goes on as easily as a moisturiser and offers an undetectable second-skin finish. That’s not all, it also contains soft-focus powders to blur imperfections and give skin a healthy glow while evening out discolouration. Plus: The long-wear formula fights sweat and sebum for a perfectly shine-free finish.

It also offers skin-loving benefits and is juiced up with hydrating hyaluronic acid and antioxidant kalanchoe extract to improve skin’s oxygenation (read: improves skin cell metabolism and stimulates collagen generation). Sounds like a dream. In four shades.

Boy de Chanel Le Baume Lèvres Matte Moisturizing Lip Balm

This heavyweight blend of jojoba oil, shea butter and antioxidant vitamin E is surprisingly lightweight on the lips. It protects, softens and hydrates for up to eight hours and the best thing about this that all the boys will like: Its matte finish without a hint of shine.

Boy de Chanel Le Stylo Sourcils Eyebrow Pencil

Fill in them arches and get effortless definition with this waterproof pencil that stays put for eight hours. One side of the brush holds a wax and emollient oil formula in a tapered twist-off tip for precise application and the other side holds a spoolie to blend the pigment and brush strands into place. In four shades.

Boy de Chanel will be launching in South Korea come September 2018, on Chanel’s e-commerce site from November 2018, and in Chanel Singapore boutiques starting January 2019.
