Landslide buries residents in southwest China's Chongqing
An unknown number of people were buried after a landslide struck a county in the southwestern Chinese city of Chongqing on Friday (Jul 17), causing multiple residential buildings downhill to collapse.
The landslide struck Pengshui county after falling rocks were spotted earlier in the morning. Authorities began evacuating residents, but the hillside gave way during the operation.
Nine people were pulled from the debris, with none reported to be in life-threatening condition.
Dashcam and aerial footage captured the moment the hillside collapsed, sending debris across nearby roads and forcing vehicles to stop.
