SEA Games 2025 opening ceremony in Bangkok, Thailand
The opening ceremony of the 33rd SEA Games on Tuesday (Dec 9) began with hundreds of drones lighting up the sky over Rajamangala Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
The stage incorporates more than 800,000 litres of water, allowing for spectacular performances including flyboard and jet ski stunts.
The message of unity was emphasised throughout the opening ceremony, which took place amid heightened tensions between Cambodia and host country Thailand.
The loudest screams were reserved for Thai K-pop star BamBam, who performed his hit single Wheels Up, as well as Rak Nak Naen with other Thai artists.
Singapore sent its largest SEA Games contingent yet, with 930 athletes set to compete in 48 sports.
