The third-generation owner preserving his family’s oyster cake legacy
Mr Deitrich Mohan and his mother run Maxwell Fuzhou Oyster Cake together.
The 43-year-old started working there in October 2024 after he was retrenched. He’d taken it as a sign to turn his attention to the family business.
Another reason he wanted to work at the stall was to nurture a closer relationship with his mother.
Mr Mohan hopes to keep his family’s stall going until its 100th year, which will be in 2062. By then, he will be about 79.
