18-year-old who identified as "East Asian supremacist" detained under Singapore's ISA
An 18-year-old student who identified as an "East Asian supremacist" has been detained under the Internal Security Act (ISA). He is the third person to be dealt with under the ISA who was radicalised by violent far-right extremist ideologies. Two other self-radicalised individuals - a 56-year-old Singaporean and a 34-year-old Malaysian - have also been dealt with under the ISA. Dr Shashi Jayakumar, Executive Director of SJK Geostrategic Advisory, discusses the issue of the third Singaporean youth with far-right extremist ideologies to be dealt with under the ISA. He talks about why this is a concern for Singapore and if there is a trend emerging.
