Alvin Tan on strengthening global competitiveness of Singapore's water tech companies
The government will continue to support local water tech companies to strengthen their global competitiveness and better position them to pursue market opportunities abroad, said Minister of State for Trade and Industry Alvin Tan in parliament on Friday (Mar 6). In his reply to an MP’s questions, he highlighted that events such as the Singapore International Water Week can help Singapore-based companies as well as start-ups gain visibility and access to potential investors, partners and customers. He also noted that in addition to available grants, companies which need financing for overseas expansion can tap onto the Enterprise Financing Scheme, and they can also access trade loans for the buying and selling of goods.
