Ceasefire talks underway in Egypt as Israel, Hamas mark two years of Gaza war
Israel and Hamas are potentially on the cusp of peace in Gaza, two years since the Middle East conflict began. Negotiations began yesterday in Egypt, with mediators from the US, Qatar, Egypt and Türkiye taking part. There has been no resolution on the key elements of US President Donald Trump's peace proposal, which includes the handover of captives, the release of Palestinian prisoners, as well as increased access to humanitarian aid. Meanwhile, Qatar has maintained that the future of the enclave must remain in the hands of Palestinians. Blake Sifton reports from Tel Aviv.
