US, Russian and Ukrainian officials to meet in Abu Dhabi for first trilateral war talks
Negotiators from the US, Russia and Ukraine are set to meet in Abu Dhabi for trilateral security talks across two days. It's the first time the three sides are meeting together since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022. The meeting comes after talks in Moscow between Russian President Vladimir Putin, US envoy Steve Witkoff and President Donald Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the talks in the UAE are "a step" towards ending the war, adding that discussions are likely to focus on territory. Nick Harper reports from Washington DC.
