Economist Rajiv Biswas on the cost of floods in South and Southeast Asia
Governments and analysts have estimated that floods in South and Southeast Asia have caused damages and losses of US$20 billion for the month of November. Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand and Malaysia are forecast to lose up to 0.2 percentage points of GDP to flooding this year, while Sri Lanka tops the list with about 0.8 percentage points.
