Baey Yam Keng on inland ash scattering of cremated remains
There are no plans to make inland ash scattering the default option for managing cremated ashes. Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Sustainability and the Environment Baey Yam Keng said this in reply to an MP's question in Parliament on Tuesday (Feb 27). He said an opt-out option will be provided for those who do not prefer it. He added that the Government has been working with religious leaders and the community to raise awareness of the option.
