Baey Yam Keng on strong and positive response to Blooboxes in recycling drive
The Bloobox initiative was launched in November 2022 to help households identify what can and cannot be recycled. By the end of the distribution period on Apr 30 this year, about 530,000 or 93 per cent of the Blooboxes have been distributed. Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Sustainability and the Environment Baey Yam Keng gave this update in reply to MPs’ questions in Parliament on Tuesday (May 9). He said the strong and positive response by the public reflects the community’s interest in recycling. Mr Baey said the National Environment Agency will continue to collaborate with various partners to encourage households to recycle. The remaining Blooboxes will be used to support this effort, he added.
