02:14 Min

Indonesia's central bank has held its main interest rates steady, keeping its focus on stabilising the rupiah, which had earlier hit a four-month low against the dollar. In announcing its final monetary policy decision for the year, Bank Indonesia held the benchmark rate at six per cent, after dropping them in September for the first time since 2021. While the interest rates remain steady, the bank has been shaken by allegations of corruption. On Dec 16 night, anti-graft officers raided Bank Indonesia's premises to investigate possible misuse of funds. CNA's Chandni Vatvani has more from Jakarta.
