BIMSTEC summit: India's Modi meets Bangladesh's Yunus for first time since Sheikh Hasina's ouster

Several Asian leaders have reached a joint declaration in Bangkok, expressing condolences for and solidarity with victims of Myanmar's earthquake. Members of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) said they will work more closely together on disaster management. The group consists of Thailand, Myanmar, India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Bhutan. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi also met Bangladeshi interim leader Muhammad Yunus — the first meeting since the overthrow last year of long-time Delhi ally Sheikh Hasina. Ishan Garg reports.
