In Parliament on Wednesday (Feb 24), MP Muhamad Faisal Abdul Manap proposed that the salaries of Singapore nurses be pegged to that of other countries with similar economic status. He also questioned the timing of the increase in petrol duties, saying an immediate implementation would be a blow to individuals whose livelihood depends on vehicles. He voiced his concern that the increase would lead to a rise in prices of other goods. With regard to environmental sustainability, he called for Singapore to work closely with the natural environment instead of imposing artificial solutions.
