Budget 2023 debate: Jessica Tan on role of Jobs-Skills Integrators
How will the selection or appointment of the Jobs-Skills Integrators be done? Who or which organisations can qualify to take on the role? How will those who are seeking to enter the workforce, those who have been displaced or retrenched or those seeking a career transition engage with the Jobs-Skills Integrators? These were some of the questions highlighted by MP Jessica Tan in Parliament on Wednesday (Feb 22). With the extension of the Senior Employability Credit and Part-Time Re-employment Grant to 2025, she also asked how many enterprises have taken up the schemes and in what roles seniors are employed in the organisations. She also touched on the structure of work and support for workers who are caregivers, highlighting that policies must be complemented by a work culture which empowers and fosters an environment of mutual trust among employers and workers, as well as between workers.
