More must be done to empower and support freelance workers, said NMP Jean See. She told Parliament on Tuesday (Feb 27) that this matters most where freelancing is the dominant mode of work, such as the creative, media, coaching and platform work sectors. Ms See suggested several ways to boost the long-term capabilities of freelancers and their confidence for the future. These include working with relevant groups to help freelancers keep pace with industry changes by, for example, developing targeted training support and subsidies.
