Budget 2025 debate: Tin Pei Ling on keeping Singapore resilient
Budget 2025 is a generous one that addresses immediate needs and prepares for the future, said MP Tin Pei Ling in parliament on Wednesday (Feb 26). However, highlighting challenges that Singapore faces - both foreign and domestic - she raised several points to keep the country resilient. Ms Tin urged the government to put back into the reserves what was taken out during the COVID-19 pandemic, given the “relatively good fiscal year with surplus”. She also called for measures to strengthen economic resilience and secure sustainable energy.
