Chan Chun Sing on MOE review of DSA scheme

06:29 Min

The Ministry of Education (MOE) is reviewing the Direct School Admission (DSA) scheme across three aspects - development, selection and accessibility. For development, it wants to ensure that schools focus on providing opportunities that add value to both their DSA and non-DSA students’ development. In selection, it wants to strengthen the DSA process so that it continues to be undergirded by the principles of transparency, objectivity and inclusiveness, as well as staying student-centric. As for accessibility, MOE wants to ensure that students from all backgrounds are recognised not just for their performance but also their potential in specific talent areas. Education Minister Chan Chun Sing, who said this in reply to an MP’s questions in Parliament on Tuesday (Oct 15), told the House that MOE will share details on the review in due course.
