Chan Chun Sing on teachers not being penalised for not responding to calls after work
Education Minister Chan Chun Sing said teachers will not be penalised during their appraisals if they do not respond to students or parents outside of office hours. He reiterated that there is an established process in the Ministry of Education when students and parents can or should contact teachers. Mr Chan said there will be exigencies of service but he said parents or students should not call teachers for trivial matters. He was replying to an MP's question in Parliament on Thursday (Feb 29).
