Chong Kee Hiong on public housing motions

Singapore has one of the highest rates of home ownership in the world and this proves that HDB's policies have been working well over the generations, said MP Chong Kee Hiong. Speaking in Parliament on Tuesday (Feb 7), he said housing measures have to evolve to adapt to changing needs, as well as suit new population requirements and social norms. He urged HDB to continue to work with the construction sector on new and faster building techniques to ease supply and demand pressures. He also stressed the need to regularly review and calibrate existing priority schemes to ensure that home ownership is within reach for a broad spectrum of budgets.
