Choo Pei Ling on Veterinary Practice Bill
Establishing a Veterinary Council, strengthening registration, requiring continuing professional education and putting in place a clear disciplinary framework are not just regulatory changes, but the foundations of a veterinary profession that people can have confidence in, said MP Choo Pei Ling in parliament on Wednesday (Apr 8). She noted that the council will have to be credible to the profession and trusted by the public. This means having the right mix of expertise, processes that are fair and impartial, and clear communication when serious disciplinary findings are made.
