A strong intellectual property (IP) regime provides a framework in which innovation can be encouraged, said Deputy Speaker Christopher de Souza in Parliament on Monday (Mar 1). The right approach has to be identified to affirm to companies and inventors that their IP is safe in Singapore and can be defended in a dispute, he said. He also raised the need for Singapore to continually review its usage of land.
