Committee of Supply 2021 debate, Day 2: Don Wee on including climate change under Total Defence

Climate change has a big impact on military operations and training, the maintenance of equipment and facilities and the direction of defence strategies, MP Don Wee said in Parliament on Monday (Mar 1). He asked if the Ministry of Defence would consider adopting climate defence as a new pillar of Total Defence, putting the environment at the centre of Singapore's defence schemes and sending a strong message to the world about Singapore's commitment to environmental sustainability.
